My Story
This story begins at Christmas 2021, when most of my family gathered at my home in Ohio. After the celebrations, my oldest grandson stayed the night and headed home the next morning. Everything seemed normal until Monday, when he called to say, “Oh by the way, I have Covid. I hope I didn’t give it to Bobbie and you.”
I wasn’t overly concerned at first—I had recovered from Covid before—but this time was different.
As the New Year approached, my symptoms grew worse. By January 7th, my wife insisted on taking me to the hospital. I didn’t realize how serious things were until doctors immediately admitted me and found massive blood clots in my lungs, dangerously high blood sugar, high blood pressure, and several other complications. The night became a blur of tests, IVs, and worry.
By the next afternoon, the noise in my head became unbearable. In that moment of desperation, I started talking to God and told the Lord that I didn’t know what to do because I really couldn’t stand the noise in my brain. I asked, “What should I do?”
And I heard the Lord say: “Just praise Me!”
So I started praising the Lord.
Immediately, it was like a tunnel of pure white light opened up in my mind and all the noise stopped. I had no pain, no fear—just peace and continual praise. I lost track of time; it might have been two hours, or three, or four. I wasn’t aware of anything happening around me until I heard someone say, “He’s having a heart attack.” I didn’t realize they were talking about me until a nurse asked if I felt any pain. When she said that, I suddenly felt it in my left arm.
Because I was already in the hospital, the doctor was able to act fast and prep me for a stent. My right artery was 96% blocked. If I hadn’t been there when the heart attack happened, I don’t believe I would be here. God had it all set up to get my heart cleaned out. God saved my life, got the Covid cleared out, and helped me totally change my outlook on my health and eating habits.
When I entered the hospital, I weighed 235 pounds. Within about two years, I lost 70 pounds. My resting heart rate went from 85 to between 58 and 62. I stopped living to eat and started eating just enough to live. I cut out processed foods as much as possible, avoided preservatives, reduced bread and potatoes, stopped eating chips, and had already given up sodas years before.
In two years, I rode my indoor bike thousands of miles and fast-walked or ran hundreds more. I feel better now than I have in 20 years.
I thank the Lord often for how much He loves me.
His praise shall continually be in my mouth!
This brand was created from that transformation—proof of God’s mercy, a renewed commitment to honoring the body He gave me, and a mission to encourage others to pursue better health, deeper gratitude, and a more purposeful life.
